Digital Preservation Policy

Avances en Interacción Humano-Computadora (AIHC) is committed to the long-term preservation of its scholarly content and to ensuring permanent access to the articles it publishes. As an open-access journal, AIHC implements digital preservation mechanisms that safeguard the availability, authenticity, and integrity of its scholarly record for future generations.

Preservation Strategy

The journal is published using the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, which supports internationally recognized digital preservation services.

LOCKSS

AIHC participates in the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) program, developed by the Stanford University Libraries. This distributed preservation system enables participating libraries to maintain authorized archival copies of the journal's content.

LOCKSS regularly collects newly published content, validates archived copies across participating libraries, and restores content if data corruption or loss is detected. This distributed approach ensures the long-term preservation of the journal's digital archive.

CLOCKSS

The journal is compatible with CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), an international community-governed digital preservation network based on LOCKSS technology.

CLOCKSS maintains secure, redundant archival copies of the journal's content across a network of academic libraries worldwide. If the original published content becomes unavailable, CLOCKSS ensures its long-term preservation and continued accessibility in accordance with its preservation policies.

Persistent Identifiers

All published articles receive a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through Crossref, ensuring permanent identification, discoverability, citation, and long-term accessibility.

Institutional Preservation

In addition to LOCKSS and CLOCKSS, the journal maintains institutional backups of its editorial platform, databases, and digital files through preservation procedures established by the Mexican Association of Human-Computer Interaction (AMexIHC). These measures reduce the risk of data loss and contribute to the continuity of the scholarly record.

Commitment

AIHC periodically reviews its digital preservation strategy and adopts international best practices to ensure the long-term accessibility, integrity, and preservation of its published scholarly content.
